REMOTE ONLINE NOTARIZATION ACT (RON)

Due to the enactment of the Remote Online Notarization Act (R.S. 35:621 et. seq.), Louisiana began to allow notaries to register for remote online notarization (RON) on February 1, 2022.

The duly appointed and commissioned notary public, residing in Louisiana, who holds a current commission may be authorized to perform remote online notarizations upon approval from the Secretary of State.

Yes.  Conisder this remote appointment exactly the same as any in-person notary appointment.  You'll need to provide valid identification that will need to be verified by our staff through our notary software.  

Do not assume that remote notary services are "easier" than in-person notary services.  It anything, they will be slightly more complex to ensure the highest standards are being upheld.
